The Joshua Tree Retreat Center

A 150-acre campus of organic architecture, healing pools, and desert silence. Bungalow guests have full access.

A Campus Unlike Any Other

The Joshua Tree Retreat Center was dedicated in 1941 as a Mentalphysics Spiritual Teaching and Retreat Center. It offers instruction in eastern philosophies adapted for Western audiences, with a focus on Prana, breathing, meditation, yoga, and nutrition. The 150-acre campus houses an important collection of organic architecture designed by Lloyd Wright (Frank Lloyd Wright Jr.). It is not a traditional resort. Full of architectural gems, it is a homespun campus where people from all over the world come to search for stillness. Classes, workshops, and activities run year-round. Check the JTRC calendar at jtrcc.org for current offerings. The Homestead Modern team can help book tours, massages, and other activities. Just let us know what you need.

The Pool

Relax by the Pool

The Retreat Center has a large cold pool and a hot pool maintained at 100 to 104 degrees. Pool hours are 8am to 8pm. A bathroom and outdoor shower are adjacent to the pool area. Swimsuits must be worn at all times. No music or shouting in the pool area.
